Teresa Waters is currently a teacher and head coach in Howard County Public School System, where she has over 30 years of experience. Coach Waters is also the WBCA Scholastic Director, Co-Chair of the Youth Basketball Working Group, member of the Youth Basketball Working Group, Nominating Committee, and Mentoring and Membership Working Group. Coach Waters has earned three Hall of Fame Awards: Howard County Women’s Athletics, River Hill High, and Snow Hill High respectively. Her professional affiliation consists of the National High School Basketball Coaches Association (NHSBCA) State Representative, Maryland Basketball Coaches Association President (MBCA), Maryland Public School System Athletic Association (MPSSAA) Regional Director and State Basketball Committee, and Howard County Public Schools System (HCPSS) Girls Basketball District Representative. Waters piloted the Howard County Academy of Finance and is the advisor for Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). Her dedication towards her work and her students has shown in her efforts. Her commitment to excellence has been engrained into her student-athletes and her students. Her FBLA team has won 16 out of 21 state conference championships, has had a multitude of state and national officers, a multitude of national winners. She was awarded the Regional Advisor of the Year in 2020 and 2006, State Advisor of the Year in 2021 and 2004, and was recently enshrined into the National FBLA Hall/Wall of Fame. Waters brings her experience and strong leadership skills to the Dream Team, and she is passionate about serving her community.
